Study: La Canada Hills

Here's something a little different from yesterday. In preparation for an album cover illustration, I painted a study in the hills of La Canada ("la can-yada", not up north :P). This was my first attempt at plein-air painting, I probably spent 1 hour and 45 minutes or so on it. It felt really good to paint with, y'know, real paint again!

Today's song: "Fightey Bitey", by Dweezil Zappa. This is one of my most listened-to songs, from one of my favorite albums. As I listened this morning, it evoked a maniacal, rocketized canine monster-head-with-hands. Enjoy!

Get ready for a post-splosion! I've been doing my daily sketches, just haven't gotten the chance to posting them. Here's the first of many. The song was "BLOOD AND THUNDER" from the Trigun soundtrack, though I suppose it could just as easily have been the opener to Mastodon's masterpiece Leviathan.

Hey everyone! Starting the sketches up again for the new year! I did this one yesterday, but didn't have the chance to post it until now. The song was Daft Punk's "Too Long". Of course it had to be a robot. Some kind of ROBOracle, perhaps. This is the first traditional media sketch I've done for this exercise-- neat!
